Simplistic, man. I can imagine lots and lots of states of mind that might occur in a robber, besides a plain "I'm entitled to your stuff." You just like 'entitled' because you apparently picked up a story somewhere that criticized black people for some odd thing called "generational entitlement," (you mentioned this earlier), and it's a handy rationale for a critical view of them.

Some alternative attitudes for a robber:

1, 'I've got a grudge and I'm going to hurt you by taking your stuff'
2. 'I know I'm doing wrong, but this is a way to stop feeling rotten for a while.'
3. 'I know this is wrong, but if I don't come up with the money by tonight, they're gonna kill me.'

That's just three, there's a jillion more. Not trying to offer justifications--none of the three just mentioned are justifications. Just trying to say your assurance that you know and can judge just what sort of guy Brown was is bogus.
