Not really. The fantasy that the left continues to perpetuate about their "racist" political opponents simply continues to fuel hate and fear. Its a very convenient rhetorical device to create a straw man, then blame the existence of the straw man on someone else. Using a rhetorical device doesn't make something a "fact" or the "truth".
