Reminds me of a conversation I had with a drunken Republican hag at Carrabas last night.
She said; "It's a shame how
they do wait staff these days. I mean, what is their rate, like $2.30 an hour?"
Me; "Who is they?"
"The government, especially that corrupt governor of ours."
"It's the government that sets the minimum wage, which is way higher than $2.30 an hour. Wait staff are exempt from the Federal or state minimum wage."
"So, who sets their wages then?"
"Their fucking cheapskate employers. Beyond that, they are at the mercy of patrons like you and I. I tip 20% with a $3 minimum. How about you?"
This drew silence and a blank stare from the ignorant asshole.
