Found what is certainly the basis for all my squeaks and vibrations - the tail of the tranny wasn't bolted to the mount, bolts were gone I feel I got lucky. There could have been a catastrophic failure.

Regardless, the ujoints were pretty dry and original. I'm this far in so I'm doing the work.

One super nice thing, everything is so clean and rust free, bolts come out(obviously ), no rust in the eyes, it's just unnatural!

I had a Ranger once that seemed to have a funky clutch or release bearing when I got it. Turned out that the bell housing bolts had all backed out.
