Respectfully, I don't believe this sort of idealism can exist in government outside of a vacuum.
Since the inception of the Constitution -- an imperfect document stolen from American Indians (in part) I might add -- it has been ignored during periods of great need, stress, efficiency or subversive global strategy.
I don't mind that.
I mind it being done if/when none of those conditions demanding expediency or focus exist.
1. You want the War on Terror?
2. You get Constitutional evasion.
