Enrollments under health care reform are still waaaayyy skewed towards older (more expensive to insure) demographics, so the "under 30 crowd" is still not signing up in significant enough numbers to cover the anticipated claims costs.
Also, total enrollments are are just shy of 1.2 million at the end of January 2014. We still don't know how many are actually PAID enrollments, though the scuttlebutt in industry circles is that about 20% of enrollment remained unpaid even after the payment deadline was extended.
I notice that I still have no takers on a bet that I made a couple weeks ago here on the forum. I'll repeat is again here:
The administration's enrollment target for Obamacare to break even was 7 million enrolled by 3/31/2014. And that's PAID enrollments, by the way. I've been consistent stating that there's no way that target will be met. Anyone want to bet me that I'll be wrong?
Oh, by the way, the enrollment trends suggest that January enrollments slowed a bit from December 2013's enrollment pace.

Of course. The young are immature and ignorant enough to think they don't need it. Most older people know better.
The Republicans bank on ignorance, immaturity and, at times, downright stupidity. It's what has sustained them for at least the last three decades.
