Both sorts of opinions are out there.

Sweden has done the experiment and has the results, for anyone who actually wants to fight the 'n-going victimization, exploitation and objectification of women' that is inherent in the sex trade. Make paying for sex the illegal thing. Arrest the johns. Eliminates a great amount of the customer base in a hurry. The women must find other means of support, for better or worse....

This idea hasn't found great popularity elsewhere, for some odd reason. Works a trick, though. (sorry....)
