I guess we all have things others aren't into (I do not have hospital receptacles in my house). I have bought better cables (not those super expensive ones but more pricey than I ever thought I'd spend) and could hear a difference. I prolly fooled myself but what the hell, it put a smile on my face.

Having a small background in audio engineering it just made sense as studios were not pulling out the monster cables and live we never used them either. I just correlated this into "maybe it would help at home also"

Again, as you all know, this was my personal thoughts and findings. YMMV

I've been pretty good about avoiding this subject for years now. I'd prefer to talk the merits of speaker recapping
Can't say I'm really into these things, they're just my job. Actually, consider my long winded discourse as a public service.

Everyone worries about the "hot" wire, but never takes into consideration that it all feeds to ground. A bad ground will ruin more things or kill you quicker, because everyone thinks they're not hot.

In a properly grounded circuit, they're not. In an improperly grounded circuit, if you manage to ground yourself and touch the grounding wire, you will become the conductor...and it will cook you like a big chicken.

This I know for a fact. And you will not be able to turn loose of a 120V device which is suffering from a ground fault...I have personal experience in this matter.

Anyway, watch out for them grounds, fellers.

BTW, I will spring for a set of RCA cables so long as they don't cost more than 15-20 bucks. Bad thing is, a lot of them have lousy ends which don't make a good connection. Hate to say it, but the cheap ones they used to give you made a better connection.
