He is calling around to places today. So far, it hasn't been very promising. Usually he works on his truck himself, but I guess because its a half ton, there is a part that he might have a hard time finding.
Fortunately, his boss has loaned him a company truck so he can get to and from work til he gets this fixed. He just started this job after being unemployed for a long time and I don't want him to lose this job!!!
What is it doing? Don't spend alot on parts, these are plentiful and parts are cheap. I see complete rear ends with good brakes still on them for about 100-150.00 on Craigslist. They can go out, though not often. My wife had an 01 S10 that lost a rear, the cross pin broke in half right after she bought it from the previous owner that spun one tire in the snow for about 20 minutes solid like a fool thinking it would melt it's way to the pavement and get him up the hill. One wheel spinning while the other is sitting still is very hard on the cross pin. That being said, we still have 2 1994's and a 1999 that have been darn good.. but they've never been in the hands of a fool.
