I am not sure we would nuke North Korea, but we would most assuredly begin a land invasion, most likely with us coming from the South and the Chinese from the North. Maybe we would not nuke them (or maybe the Chinese would for us? I do not know) but we would take him out of power.
We ourselves may not want to be on record as the only nation to use nuclear weapons against a nation of a different race twice....
The Chinese trade with South Korea is much larger than their commerce with the North Koreans. I am sure that China does not want them to do something stupid like send a nuke toward Japan.
I am with you I do not want stand your ground applied internationally unless a nation has to defend itself from unlawful acts of war.
