That would imply that the only reason for invoking executive privilege is to conceal executive malfeasance or criminal misconduct. For all its earlier failings, "Fast and Furious" is an ongoing operation with national security implications. As such, it's perfectly appropriate to invoke Executive privilege for the protection of sensitive operational details.

John
I believe the Fast and Furious operation has ended.

Someone should do an anal probe investigation of that convicted criminal ahole Issa. I am sure a lot of interesting things would turn up.

Issa's committee already has thousands of documents and Holder has testified several times. This is a BS attempt to cook up a fake conspiracy to hurt Obama's chances of being reelected.

This ridiculous operation started as an ATF operation called Gun runner in 2005. Then in 2006 it was named Operation Wide Receiver. It ended in 2007. Then in 2009 the ATF received funding, through the stimulus package, and reopened Operation Wide Receiver under the name Fast and Furious. It was still an ATF operation. Obama does not micro manage agencies; how could he. I am sorry to burst right wing bubbles but this is not even similar to the Watergate cover up.

The funniest thing about all of the wingnuts are claiming that Fast and Furious was an Obama plot to take away their guns. The theory is, Obama was going to get as many weapons into "those brown peoples hands". Then, when they illegally enter the US and start killing Americans, outraged citizens would start demanding gun control laws. It is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Obama has said squat about gun control, and he won't if he wins a second term.
