If you don't want to do DIY, have a look at, and I hate to say it, 'cuz they're Chinese....But Little Dot makes awesome 'phone amps for little scratch. Could prolly pick one up, used, off of ebay for less than $100.

Did a quick search on the bay for tube headphone amps, and came up with over 150, the vast majority in China. Lots of plexiglass and brushed aluminum - actually pretty cool looking. I'm thinking if I do it, though, I'd enjoy the DIY.
