Happy Indigenous People's Day!

'Bout time we stopped honoring the monster Cristobal Colon and the inception of the American genocide.

Not at all.

On the other hand, the glorification of what Columbus did, and what he inspired, is pretty fucking loathsome.

Only in America is a guy honored for screwing up by going in the wrong direction.
So I am all for Happy whatever day and am taking the day off.

They did, but took the undefeated Falcons into overtime. I'm starting to pay a little attention to them now that the self-promoting malcontent of a QB (RGIII) has been benched.

Nobody's glorifying anything. They're simply taking a day off. With the exception of July 4th, all of our secular holidays are pretty much nothing more than a day off.

As for what Columbus did, he did pretty much what all European colonizing powers did. Morever, holding his behavior over 5 centuries ago to 21st century standards is a bit disingenuous, if not self-loathing.

California bans the use of 'Redskins' in school sports. Racist morons moan.
