Good night nurse!

Have you all heard the "big story" the media has created about the 7 year old kid directing commercial air traffic. He was with his Dad, who let him say a few things to some pilots. Now they want to crucify the poor Dad. I think this is just one more example of how out of touch "we" are in this country with what matters and what doesn't. Jeesh, get a life news media.

I'm sure the whole incident was fairly benign.

But his pa should have realized just how big of a shit storm this could turn into.

I guess, but I can't see the Dad and the Tower Boss both losing their jobs over it. How is that gonna make the kid feel? Sure, smack dad on the wrist good and hard, but a guys career is serious business. People kill themselves over that kind of crap, THEN how would junior feel. I say let it go, at least for the media. Why kick the poor SOB when he's down. That time could be spent kicking Obama while he's down.:D

I'm pretty sure Dad was right there coaching him, and that the boy wasn't really calling any shots. But, I'd have to agree with Chas. His Dad shoulda known that if this left the tower that the sharks would be there to feed.

Agreed, it is sad though.

Well, if things are as I suspect, I don't think anyone should lose their job. Hang some paper on the guy, give him a good ass eating, but let him keep his job.

As to kicking Obama, that's the wrong approach. Since I've found out that he's drinking too much, what's say we help him out and put him in rehab?

He'll thank us for it in the end.

It's crazy. I thought it was cute, and the sound they played on TV made it sound like the pilots thought so too. What's the big deal. Lighten up.

Twodogs 03-03-2010 07:29 PM

Exactly Ed, they were playing right along with him. Do they really think that the Dad didn't have complete control of the microphone?

You don't actually believe that Drudge sludge, do you , Chas? The report advised Obama to "Continue smoking cessation efforts, a daily exercise program, healthy diet, moderation in alcohol intake, periodic dental care, and remain up-to-date with recommended immunizations." You know, as in keep doin' what yer doin'. The Right Wing will seize on absolutely anything to wound their opponents.
