I got them both from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. They got the jobs chart from the Dept. of Labor. The source for the foreign debt pie chart I don't know yet.

I've seen some charts which were different, most likely sourced from some VRWC site.

Personally, I don't believe anybody anymore.

See Chas, you conservatives spend all of your time trying to find what's wrong, without ever trying to find what's right. I suppose that's the nature of politics, huh?

I believe what I see going on around me. I believe my best friend, who is a real estate agent is selling more houses the last few months. I believe an old friend of mine who is a steelworker, back home in Ohio, is going back to work, along with 1,000 fellow employees, come monday---after a sixteen month layoff. I believe our volume at work has picked up a bit lately, and I've even been getting some O.T.. I believe the unemployment rate dropped slightly recently. I believe my Sis, just got her $8,000 "First time homeowner" rebate, and used it to buy appliances and new furniture for her new house.

None of these thing are really earthshaking, true. But they are all positive. Been a while since anything positive has happened, hasn't it?

And I also believe I see Republicans so desperate for leadership that they're lining up behind this dipshit that needs to scribble crib notes on her palms to remind herself of what her basic priorities are.

But, she does have a nice ass. I'll give her that.

The DOL has all sorts of interesting data concerning economic conditions. I found one interesting data chart here, showing that the productivity of the American workforce took huge leaps in the second and third quarters of 2009. It looks to me like employers are putting more and more on existing employees rather than hiring additional workers to fulfill needs. This could be an indicator that there will be a point in the near future where there will be breakthrough in job creation. There's always room for hope.
