Well, time for you to get in line for some harsh feedback from our fellow progressive who can't help but object to any assessment that pegs ISIS as a pack of subhuman vermin.

Nobody disputes what they are though some do see a high degree of similarity between ISIS' actions and the prescriptions for redress offered by some here.

If you read the article in The Atlantic (link was posted here somewhere, I still have my copy of the magazine) they expect to be crushed eventually and believe that Armageddon will result. Then according to their scenario Jesus will return to earth, and yet they massacre Christians - go figure. Time to leave off with the F-16s and bring out the B-2s, it will save lives in the long run.

Muslims believe that Jesus is a prophet, second only to Mohammed. They believe that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all revelations of the same truth and that the adherents of all three religions are "people of The Book". Unfortunately, they also believe that Islam, being more recent than the other two religions is the final and the perfect revelation of God and His will.

This has a lot to do with the Sunni's hatred of the Shi'a. Being a newer sect that departs from Sunni orthodoxy, Shi'ism is considered apostasy and blasphemy.
