Introducing The Arctic Crisp Apple
 

An apple that does not oxidize brown. This was accomplished through "Gene Silencing." My guess is this apple, now approved by the Feds, is going to generate a lot of discussion.

When I saw the thread title I thought maybe it was a new cold climate variety. Not as excited about the non-browning. Apparently "arctic" is just a marketing gimmick. You would think they'd have picked a name that describes the feature. Almost comes across as deceptive that it doesn't.

I think they want you to think the flesh is white as snow/ice in the Arctic.

I would not hesitate to eat them but I don't see the need for myself as a consumer.

I thought it was new flavor of hashish, man.

That would probably work if w didn't have a bunch of people with the false impression that the arctic snow has melted.

I'll pass. As long as they are labeled when in use. But I wounder what will happen to the apple trees cross pollinating in nature?

I'm not alone in distrusting GMO's and their impack on our food chain. Big agra or any corp are not above a lie to make a buck.
