Dashcam video from the incident posted by Raw Story, above, shows officer Nathanial Robinson, 23, pull over Pete Vasquez, 76, at Adam's Auto Mart in Victoria, Texas, as "Under Ground Kings" by Drake blares from the cruiser's radio.

Vasquez gets out of the car, walks behind it and gestures toward the license plate and to the office of the dealer, where he works. He later told the Victoria Advocate newspaper that he was explaining that the dealer tags on the car make it exempt from inspection.

Victoria Police Chief Jeffrey "J.J." Craig confirmed to the paper that the car was exempt.

Don't worry I am sure Zeke will point out how an unarmed 76 year old man was being "non-compliant" and deserved to have his life put in danger by being tased, which is not safe for anyone at that age I am sure.

What kind of police state do you want to see? Are we all to never question a police officer but simply obediently do whatever they demand? That sort of society I want no part of.

Oh come on. Vasquez was standing at the rear of the car. He did not 'enter the officers personal space.' He was just staying where he was, when the officer advanced on him, and attempted to grab the documents Vasquez's hand. The officer needlessly, belligerently, initiates violence.

Then you put the word 'questioning' into Vasquez's statement. That makes the quote into a lie.

You want to defend the cop too much. This man did NOT assault the officer. Slamming him around, let alone risking his life by tasing him, was totally unjustified.

BTW, I'd say Vasquez, as the victim of an unprovoked assault, DID have a right of self defense, though I know of no actions he took other than attempting to evade the continuing unlawful assault on him.

Looked like to me that the officer went straight for the drivers wrist, as if he was going to cuff him. I watched the video a few times and I saw no reason for the officer to react like that.

In a perfect scenario, the driver would have stayed in the car and the officer would have been more in control of himself. As it played out in reality, IMO, the officer holds greater blame for the outcome. YMMV

I wonder about this response from their PD. For real or just PR.
