How are we supposed to set an example and get any kind of respect from other countries if we can't even take care of our own problems? We are like a bully from a broken home, or the shrink who tries to fix others and can't even sort out their own life. I really think our country has regressed to a pitiful low while trying to stay in the spotlight and look pretty. If we aren't already, we will soon be the laughing stock of the world. I can hear it now..."at least we aren't as fucked up as the United States".

We are doing that now as far as foreign policy goes.

As far as taking care of our own backyard that's not happening at all.

They've been saying that for years my friend. I'd heard it from friends in Stockholm back in '86 when I visited there. We still are a popular place to visit but I imagine and fear it's like visiting Roma back in the waning days of the Pax Romana.
