Selective Outrage...
Just once wouldn't it be refreshing to see some outrage from the right directed at somebody besides Barack Obama, and something not related to political vote whoring.
Something like this maybe... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...s_Faithful.jpg The Marine Corps has been poisoning military families and civilian contract workers at Camp Lejeune since the 1950's and has know they've been poisoning people since the 1970's. Nothing has been done about it...no relief for the victims...and the SCOTUS has probably let the Navy department off the hook for good. Any outrage from anybody on the right over this? A peep out of Sean Hannity or any of the other "Support our Troops and their Families" hypocrites on the right? Nope, not one. But Obama sneezes without covering his mouth and he's trying to infect all of America.:rolleyes: |
Who benefits from trashing the Marine Corps? Who feels good about it?
All you've got on your side here is the truth, Ike. And whoever's got bleeding-heart empathy for rank-and-file jarheads. Damn small constituencies I'm afraid.... |

Funny I haven't heard anything from Obama on it either.
It must be his fault also... |
You complain that the President takes to much power unto himself, but if he was responsible for everything you all try to blame on him, he would be GOD!

Time to break out that Trollhide song Don.
By his own admission -5 isn't interested in discourse Trollin', trollin', trollin' :rolleyes: |
I am sort of dubious on this issue......
Having spent 20 years in the Navy I do not think the military would intentionally put family members of Marines at risk. I do not think they would keep that base open if it was dangerous to personnel. I have not run across any Marines who have been damaged by being stationed there and I see hundreds every week at work. |

Our former daughter-in-law took up with a marine ten years her junior. She got our two granddaughters in the divorce (her meal tickets as she has never worked a day in her life) but after I heard about Jacksonville from the daughter of a former marine I looked the place up;
Population about 80,000 but there are five women's shelters in the general area. Teen pregnancy rate approx double any other city of its size (My friend said she had at least one pregnant girl in each of her five classes.) A marriage counselor on every second corner. Pawnshops on the others. It is basically a cultural wasteland. So the deal was that she cannot take the girls anywhere near that place nor out of the country should her boytoy eventually marry her. Oh and the story about the water supply etc is true. |
