Pope Francis is visiting Jordan. But he refuses the big armoured limousines the officials put at his disposal. He insisted on a simple car and chose a japanese used car.

Last year an old reverend of a small village in Italy gave him his vintage Renault R4. Francis was totally excited. He even rode the car for a small distance but of course just inside the Vatican.

It is a good gesture ,But it could become a deathwish,I think the odds of assasination are greater in that region especialy for a Religous leader, not of Muslim origin. This Pope Really seems to be putting the Umph Back in the Papel regime.he Shows more enthusiasm than any I have seen in a will.

The pope's modesty and his permanent wish to get into physical contact with the people drive the papal's securitiy service almost crazy.

It is a dumb thing to do, especially in that section of the world.

In this context he reminds me a bit of the Dalai Lama's attitude and behaviour.

I think Francesco is aware of the 1981 pope assassination but he does not take the consequences of that incident.

Sometimes doing the right thing means taking some risks.

In fact most of the time it does.
