Syrian Peace Talks
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...y.html?hpid=z1
Syrian peace talks hit a snag as Iranians waffle on acceptance of Geneva 1 protocols. |
Peace in the Middle East. Yeah, that's gonna happen.
|
It's interesting the we demand preconditions of Iran (who is supplying one side of the Syrian war) while demanding no such preconditions of those (Saudi Arabia, Qatar) supporting the other side.

Kind of reminds me of the time my ex-wife said she wouldn't go to my daughters wedding if I was going to be there. My daughter said "I guess that's your choice". I noticed she was there as i walked my daughter down the aisle. Sometimes politics are as chidish as immature family squabbles.

Yes, if things are not equal and fair all the way around I wouldn't expect any peace, ever.

...and the Iranian's are disinvited due to their waffling.

BTW a good sign: The Israeli will stop the distribution of gas masks this February because of the progress on Syrian chemical decommission.

It was a pretty good move on Irans part, can't fault them for trying.
Our benevolent masters worldwide have already decided Assad is going to go. Pete |
Agreed. Best way to delegitimize an agreement is to boycott it, same as in elections. Iran owns Assad and by staying out, assures nothing will come out of it.
|
...and Bashir Assad announces that he will be running for re-election. Talk about a turd in the punchbowl in Montreaux.
