New sub amp.
A Dayton SA 230.
This is a stand alone amp, adjustable bass & frequency boost, variable phase, and your standard crossover and volume. Plus some other features I'll never use.
So far I'm impressed, far more latitude to dial in for the sound you want, a definite step up from the Dayton SA 240 plate amps I was using. All three of which have blown up for me. I will say one thing for the 240, if you take one apart and go to enough trouble, they make a middling set of binding posts.
Combined with the old 10" Titanic MKIII sub I own, I now have a $500 loudness control. But at least I can bypass those damn tone controls on the preamp.
If the 230 will last for a few years, as opposed to those miserable plate amps which are lucky to make it out of warranty, I'll consider it $199 well spent.
At least I can stand to listen to my rekkerd player again. That's worth a crummy 200 bucks any day.

PS: I'm drinking beer and feel chatty. Not to mention I finally cleared my plate of a particularly nasty project which has been driving me insane. I really can't remember the last time I was in this good of a mood.
