I always liked the guy.

While I certainly didn't agree with him on every issue, he was as a rule candid, and open for a discussion...even when he was in office.

As far as that goes, IMHO he is one of the few from the hill who is willing to address an issue from a more cerebral view as opposed to partisan politics.

I have a great admiration for honesty, for without it, the premise of any argument becomes fallacious by nature.

Besides, he is making a valid point with his above statement.

I can see the set up coming a mile away. If Obama takes unilateral action the Tea Party congress will try to impeach him for not declaring war first. Even though Reagan and Clinton did the same exact thing. I can see this coming a mile away.

Obama is in a tough place. The thing is if does take action McCain and Graham may not vote for conviction in the Senate.

Now the Republicans in the House want Obama to call a session.

Actually Obama politically is in a safe place. Avoid any action in Syria. They are both our enemies. Sunnis in the form of Al Qaeda and Shia in the form of Hezbolla. Obama is fortunate that these two groups also hate each other. Let them go at it.

All this country really remembers is 9/11 and Al Qaeda. Obama needs to keep saying "helping the rebels is helping Al Qaeda". Which also happens to be true. American public is tired of wars we don't win, lose lives and wind up paying with borrowed money. He is a lame duck, congress is stagnant so who gives a damn?

It's not a matter of who we are fighting against, it's who we are fighting for which is Al Qaeda. Hey, Bush kept saying WMD and rushed us into a disastrous war. Obama can do the opposite, keep on saying Al Qaeda and then even McCain, graham and the MIC will become irrelevant.

The Repugnant party in the house doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of sustaining an impeachment measure against the President.

I'd adore watching them try it (and embarrassingly fail).

It's just one more step in the Republican Party destroying themselves.

The funny thing is that I yearn for the days of them being the honorable opposition, Zeke. They've now morphed into some sick & twisted shufflin' Alex Jones golem bent on anihilation.

They set themselves on this course by picking up the mantle of every conspiracy theorist whackjob, single issue zealot and greedy, selfish asshole that'll send them a buck and a vote.

It really wasn't that long ago that the GOP would distance themselves from such people. Now they send them up to run for the presidency.

Until they see the foolishness of this, they will continue to suffer.
