After 2 years Assad is firm.
Once it appeared that Assad was going down. But after 2 years during which time the character and make up of his opposition became clear, it appears he is going nowhere.
Sometimes I wonder if John McCain has sense. Great section of the Syrian population has more fear of the opposition than Assad. My advise to the US. Leave Syria alone. Syria will find its equilibrium. |

This is a new lesson for me. It came in a video where world leaders tried to explain how they were helping each other. The short outcome goes like this -- We were having a civil war! That's easy to dismiss when we have nukes. But for people that still shoot bullets it makes perfect sense. Like shooting at each other with BB guns and promising to only pump once. Yeh, Assad and Hezbollah make such a winning combination.

I agree and don't like it. I'd rather Assad go and we deal with the aftermath.
