The last veteran of WWII in the Senate and a well loved "political gladiator" passed away this morning. RIP, sir.

Gov. Christie should appoint Corey Booker to his seat.

The Teabaggers would go apoplectic. Great idea, BTW.;)

I wish I could take credit for the idea, Pat but alas it was floated by that WaPo writer.:) If Gov. Christie was considering a party switch it would be a coup of epic proportions. <snicker>:D

Hmmm, a special election in October costing $24,000,000.00 just three weeks before the regular election? Something is fishy about this, Chris Christie.

New Jersey native, Jon Stewart, exposes Gov. Christie for the craven political fat cat that he is. He found a video clip of Christie saying he would do the opposite of what he is doing in regards to this matter.;)

Even that fat rat bastard, Rush Limbaugh, is opining that Christie should join the Democratic Party...ha,ha, ha, ha, haw. Yeah, riiiight. That'll happen.:p

If nothing else, this is great political theater watching the Republican Party reaping the whirlwind of their nasty, back biting political punditry:rolleyes:.

Well, well you are soooo partisan.

I would invite you to take a look at the NY dems.

Guilty as charged, Don but with an explanation. I really do sympathsize with the average Republican as they watch their once Grand Old Party self immolate. I'm sorry to say but it is tragic.
We Dems and Repubs used to be able to put aside our differences and conduct the counries business, the Voting Rights Act is a good example, but now it's a vicious and weird spectacle of partisan bickering back and forth. This country looks more and more like some penny ante banana republic with the oligarch's battling the peasants for some meagar existence.

I understand your distaste for big city politics. It's mean and graft ridden. So, run for office and clean it up.

If it makes you feel any better, my little city council in Costa (misery) Mesa, Ca. just voted to outsource the city jail to a private prison corporation. So, I guess that I had better get off my ass and pay that outstanding parking ticket before I end up doing a long indeterminate sentence for being a scofflaw...:o
