The last day of 2011.

Well, lady and gentlemen, the final day of 2011 has arrived. 2012 lies ahead and despite all of the hullaballoo and doomsaying, I just have a gut feeling it's gonna be alright. At least I hope so.:)

It's 5:55 a.m. and I'm headed for bed. Take me a nap, then head over to NAPA to pick up some stabilizer links and bushings for the Dakota. The old girl has taken care of me for 15 years and 190,000 miles now and still pulling like a champ, God bless her eight cylinder heart. I figure I should occasionally return the favor.

Then it's to the bench to throw an eye and some meter leads at that mischeivous monoblock. Please, Lord, let it be something simple.:o

Later I'm meeting my dear sister for dinner, (And to check up on her, make sure all is well. Just like I promised Pop I would do.).

Last, but certainly not least it's off to Suffolk. You see, there's a woman over there who said some pretty unkind things about me a year or so ago and took up with another guy,.......Only to discover that all that glitters is not gold.

Now, she misses me.;)

Happy and Prosperous New Year to All!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave

A Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to you Dave, and all the other denizens of PC.

For some reason, I feel like I've just passed another fencepost while driving across Kansas.

Happy New Years, gents. It's sunny and warm here today. Maybe I'll change the oil in a couple of cars and take a hike in the woods.

Tonight we're heading over to an annual New Years Eve dinner party where the same 4 couples have come together now for about 20 years. The hostess studied for several years in Paris and is a Francophile and a terrific French cook. We'll have a 5-6 course dinner with a different wine for each course, eating and drinking from about 8pm until past midnight. This get-together may be my favorite night of the year.

Enjoy yours, fellows. Rob - I bet Florence is making you something very nice tonight.

No, dinner tonight will be quite modest except for the bottle of Veuve Cliquot Brut that is chilling in the fridge. Tomorrow however will be another story.

That sounds like a full day of hopefully fun. Good luck on the bushings (watch your fingers), the monoblock, and the romance. I'll be busily drinking some MaCallan's, but since I'm still traveling, I'll be without my stereo.

To everyone else,

Have a Happy New Year and a Prosperous 2012.

Every mile same as last, just a little more road weary with each passing post, Chas?

Yeah, I've driven across Kansas a couple times myself.

Did they look like a picket fence Commander? If not, you need a Lincoln like the dear leader.:D Man, I remember when I was an 18 year old Hippie thinking I'd never make it to 2000. It seemed like there just wasn't anyway I'd get there. I was in jail more than out, and when I was out I was doing shit that would either kill me or get me back in. I went 18 times in one year in Louisiana (I'm kinda strangely proud of that). Me and a certain buddy of mine would make a list of what pills we were taking so our girlfriends could give it to the paramedics if we OD'd. Maybe that's what's wrong with me. Sometimes I wish I'd get a fatal diagnoses from my Doc so I could go crazy like that again. You know, one of those, "You have 6 months" deals. I sure as fuck wouldn't lay in a bed and wait. I run straight to the Suzuki shop and buy a brand new Hyabusa with extended swing arm, grab my 9, and head across KS robbing banks. I wouldn't load the pistol, as I wouldn't want to hurt anyone, but I'd let my buds know where I was hiding the sacks of cash. Maybe knock over some gold dealers, and trust one of my buds to take care of the Missus without letting her know it was stolen. She wouldn't take a dime if she was starving if she knew it was stold. I guess you never know until you are there (getting the bad news of cancer or whatever), but I really believe to me, it would be like a chain coming off my neck. Yeehaw, Billy the gal darn kid is back, bang bang!!

OH, Happy New year guys and gals, I got kind of lost in my fantasy there for a minute. :)
