Here, here. I didn't agree w/him either politically, but an era truly has passed...

Sorry but he was a murderer who hid behind his party and family name.

That's a bit cold and inaccurate.

But just a little bit inaccurate (according to Blackstone).

Dad always told us if we had nothing good to say about a feller while he's living .... then the fact that he's dead don't change shit.

Guess I don't feel nothin' for him folks. ;)

Lauriann's folks live in Barnstable, which is like a couple of miles from Hyannisport, where the Kennedy Compound is. We were just up there about 6 weeks ago, visiting her parents, & me & her brother went to Hyannis to grab a pizza one night. We had a few minutes to kill, so I asked him if we could drive by & I could see The Compound. Sure, he says, & we drive by-You can't really get all that close, but you could sorta see where it is. Still, it was kinda neat to think of all the history that had happened because of that place. It is in a VERY "Hoity-Toity" section, they rent out beach houses, I reckon I could afford to spend MAYBE 15 minutes in one of 'em...(grin)

Gonna be tough to fill his shoes. Now we gotta have an election within 160 days.

Just the mention of his name to a snotty bureaucrat got my Dad's pension checks in the mail.

RIP, sir.

I am listening. Please tell me why ?

I am of the mind that while he was a senator from my state who did manage to compromise and work with people to get things done, there was really no excuse for his behavior.

I think his legal obligations were grossly mismanaged due to influence and his name, Whether he was absolved from his moral obligations in the matter are known but to God.
