The 1896 election had two lasting impacts on American life. First, it launched an era of Republican dominance that enabled the GOP to occupy the White House for 28 out of the next 36 years. The second impact was that it may have inspired “The Wizard of Oz,” a classic American tale that became an annual staple of prime time television in the pre-Cable, pre-Internet era. [more]
I have this movie ON VHS :)

And for such a classic,THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO WATCH IT! (Looks and sounds the best it can)

And, in a more modern context, I have always viewed Limbaugh as the Wizard. Big, booming voice on the radio, but put him out in public, exposed directly to his opposition, no cameras, no microphone, no walls electronic or otherwise, between him and the real world----------and he collapses into a sad, babbling, cowardly and pathetic man.

But unlike Obama, you have a choice not to listen to Limbaugh. I think at one point in the early 90s half his listeners were democrats. Speaking of listening, time to play some Wailin' Jennys.
