Sounds almost more like government agencies and their contractors concocting stuff for fun and profit than a real threat. I trust NSA about as far as I can throw them.

Good old spook city, I had a fun time there some years back. My son was product manager at a cyber security company. Since IBM bought them out I don't know what his title is these days.

According to the article there is some puffery going on. However to dismiss it out of hand is not in our best interest.

You've been inside spook city Rob? Tell us some secrets :D

Ach, we've been flagged by Main Core again

I managed construction of some of their facilities for over 5 years. What a bunch of strange, self-important folks (IMHO).

It was years back and they invited me over to talk about some new network standards. That was before I was naturalized and when the receptionist asked my citizenship I told her. She says Oh, you can't come in here. I says Lady, Y'all invited me over and if you don't want to here what I have to say, no problem. I was halfway out the door when the marketing type from our company showed up. He asked where I ws going and I said over to the office, they don't want to let me in.

In the end they let me in with an escort to the meeting room, at first I thought they were going to blindfold me. What a bunch.

Another time I came down from Canada to talk too some folks at NASA. The guard asks me "Does your embassy know you are here?" I told him that I figured our embassy had better things to do than track my movements. Aparently some countries do and don't want their people near some installations.
