Government run Health Plan site

So do you need health insurance ? The government site is supposed to provide information to help you find available insurance in your state.

Do you have a pre-existing condition ? If you do, it says that to be eligible for an insurance program, you must have NOT had insurance for the past 6 months? If I had a pre-existing condition, abd had to wait 6 months to be able to "afford" the prescriptions and doctors visits.

What do you think ?

I think they screwed up by not going single payer.

You just cited to the home page. That makes it difficult to review the information on which you based your post.

OK, I found it. What is shown there is a transitional plan. The transition to the pooled plans for which everyone is eligible does not happen until 2014. This delay is one the compromises away from the single payer plan.
