DeSantis primary strategy...

On NPR yesterday an analysis found DeSantis, in fear of annoying the 25% of hardcore MAGA republicans, staying away from any negative comments about Donald. Preferring to stick with "issue related" statements. Reckon how long this will last as we have already witnessed the following...

TREMENDOUS CONTENT UPDATED MAR. 22, 2023
Donald Trump’s Nasty Ron DeSantis Nicknames, Ranked

1. "Meatball Ron" (so far off the record, casual conversations only)
2. "Tiny D" (Trump toxic masculinity disorder)
3. " Ron DeEstablishment"
4. "Shutdown Ron" (never enough Covid death for Donald)
5. "Ron Disonest" (Latest in the Lyin Ted, Lyin Hillary, Lyin Comey line)
6. "DeSoros" ???
7. "Ron DeSanctimonious"
8. "Ron DeSanctus" (Meaningless but easer to remember than Sanctimonious)

Well...Cruz never went back at Trump over his "your ugly wife" comment either...so maybe DeSantis is "Tiny D" after all...it appears to run in the party.

DeSantis is working from the 25-25-50 strategy of Republican primaries. 25% of Republican voters are hardcore MAGA, 25% hardcore anti-MAGA, 50% undecided (but will never vote for any Democrat). He figures he can win the alleged "independent" Repubican voters and he already has the "never Trumpers."

It's a leap.

^^Musk is much more important to DeSantis now for his 140M Twitter followers. Risk he is taking is that Musk is flakier than a croissant.

Desantis has pissed off the Hispanic vote. Trying to stop people jumping the border is one thing but harassing people who are making an honest living is just a no, no.

There is great fear in the immigrant community of Florida regarding proposed new laws relating to the transportation and employment of undocumented immigrants.
Some construction sites are empty as immigrants move to other states, go on strike, stay at home.

Ronny Doo-doo feels he doesn't need the Hispanic vote, the LGTPQ+(?) vote, the "woke" vote, the Dem vote, or the Black vote. If he was running to be president of The Villages he'd be a shoo-in.

“I may have earned 51 percent of the vote, but that entitled me to wield 100 percent of the executive power, and I resolved to use it to advance conservative principles,” DeSantis said at an event in Wisconsin on May 6.
DeFascism will creep into our lives if he is elected. I am putting my money on DJT to Desanctimoniously oust DeSatan.

Being opposed to and by the previously mentioned groups make him a VP natural.

The GQP Reps want to win, so so bad. They have already made a deal with the devil and sold their souls.
So putting together a ticket in all reality matters little.
The are all in!

Got them votes!

Just don't see a DJT & RD ticket in 2024.
Note, DeFascist has his own mother in the shadows, Casey who I have read is the brains behind his rise to power. Cannot see her saying yes to playing second fiddle.

In the OP I pondered how long it would take DeSantis to begin to retaliate...well here's the answer...

DeSantis is going after Trump like never before

Quote:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, now officially a candidate for president, is no longer tiptoeing around former President Donald Trump – nor is he being shy about his plans to flex the powers of the presidency like never before if he wins the White House.
