Another Special Counsel for Trump
 

WASHINGTON–Attorney General Merrick Garland will appoint a special counsel to determine whether former President Donald Trump should face charges stemming from Justice Department probes, according to a person familiar with the matter.

A formal announcement, which is expected by Friday afternoon, would come three days after Mr. Trump announced another bid for the presidency and would mark the naming of the third independent prosecutor in five years to examine issues involving Mr. Trump. The exact scope of the special counsel’s remit and who it would be couldn’t be determined.

This is the decision I have been waiting for ever since the GOP takeover of the House from recent election. Hopefully this will blunt the GQP attacks on President Biden's administration.

Let us hope this is a investigation not delayed in any way and coming to a decision soon. We have national security at stake.

I have every confidence that this special counsel will take effective action to take Trump down. That is of course why he was appointed, right after Trump declared he is again seeking the presidency. I think Trump was warned not to do that but he did anyway.
