Actually, time may be kind to his perspective. I believe many people whos only crime was to be there, still being held in captivity. That sounds like the actions of a tyrannical government to me.

To give it some perspective, when trump won, he didn't, in fact, "lock her up". He moved on. Personally, as facts continue to come out, I think that was a mistake. But He wanted to show that he was moving on to govern, and not "punish the losing side", which is what tyrants try to do.
