Russian is 'winning' the economic war
 

According to Larry Elliot Russia is winning the economic war relating to its invasion of Ukraine.

One could smell that from the prominence of Henry Kissinger's recent advice to
Zelensky.

As long as Russia basically continues doing what they want. Caring little of the majority of the world.

They are winning....

Not only Russia, but elements connect with the Texas energy faction led by Ted Cruz and spokesperson Trump.

What a reversal of fortune!

Last time external events caused a big oil shortage and a big spike in prices, we passed a windfall profits tax, with bipartisan support. Won't happen this time though.

Is there life in Putin's Russia after turning itself into a sad copy of North Korea? ie a hermit kingdom spewing its bile at the rest of the world out of it's flaming hindquarters?

Most of Europe, with the exception of Orban's pipsqueak Naziesque Hungary, are shunning Patootie's gas and oil in the longterm. Short of caviar and white Russian hotties, what else do they have to export? T-72 (Weasel) tanks that vie with the venerable M4 Sherman (Zippo) for dead tank crews?

Vlad better hire more food tasters before he ends up with a bad case of Polonium - 210 poisoning.

If these current actions by Russia does little to dramatize the urgent necessity in moving from the reliance on fossil energy.

Then what will?

If there were already other energy sources in wide spread use and fossil fuels were the third/fourth choice. Russia would not be so quick to be an aggressor.


With Biden going to make nice with the Prince. Yet another bend the knee, kiss the ring for oil...

Again what is it going to take?

The transition to green energy takes time. The irony is that many countries that closed down utilities employing fossil and nuclear will now have to invest in infrastructure supporting natural gas.

Biden's Chairman handicapped him with "Inflation is transistory."

When I was in college back in the 70's there was tech then to use. Methane generator septic systems, solar, wind and battery. It was always cheaper to keep going back to fossil. A short term solution that will be shown the expensive decision in the end.

Every home built should have by now solar panels and battery backup. Plastics use requiring close to 100% recycle.
