Clapton...as they say in the UK...F###WIT

Clapton, infected with Covid-19 after rejecting vaccination, cancels shows.

Quote:

The irony here, of course, is that Clapton has railed against the vaccine. He says that after receiving one shot he couldn’t play guitar for three weeks. After that, he refused any more treatment and advised the public against it. He wrote and performed two songs made into videos, one with Van Morrison called “Stand and Deliver.” Now we might surmise he can neither Stand nor Deliver.
Fuckwit...

I guess Eric isn't a god after all.

A demi god then?

or simply a horse's ass?

Either way, he's shit the bed in terms of his career.

I liked him in Cream, Blind Faith and Derek and Dominoes but not much else since ~1970.

In my youth and still at times enjoy his music. Of course went to a few live shows too.

Know plenty of people who with the passage of time, with age and success. Forget the struggles, of just where they came from and begin to think they are truly special.

Hope he does get better soon.

Y'know bob...there's a whole list of creative geniuses who were/are assholes. Picasso and Hemingway immediately come to mind. I enjoy Picasso's work, nobody IMHO wrote about the human experience better than Hemingway. So now, Clapton is on my list of genius assholes.

Pretty much. Although I do have some other favorites. I really like the album he did with Gary Brooker, "Another Ticket"...the live album with Delaney and Bonnie. And this live performance at the 2013 Crossroads with Andy Fairweather Low.. It's a favorite live performance that I keep going back to after almost ten years.
