The Trump Cult
 

For the longest time, I have avoided using the word "cult" in regards to the Trump followers, but it has just become way too obvious.
First, let's take a look at what a cult is: a group of people who favor their "beliefs" over fact and logic. As a result, they most often gain their "information" from other cultists or the media organs of the cult so that they don't have to actually consider said facts and logic that may show a difference to their "beliefs".
And so the Trump cult. Religious people who follow and overlook the fact that he is a known liar and adulterer, for instance. Yes, they have their "reasons" for doing so, but said "reasons" have to do with "belief" rather than facts.
But it's not really the Trump cult. He just happens to be the person who is most well known. It's actually the FOX/Hannity cult. That's where Trump gets his "ideas" and policies. Yes, he used to be Democrat, but he eventually realized that they were too intelligent to see him as a "leader", and so he found his place in FOX, where he was allowed to call in and babble nonsense and they praised him for it. And so he became a FOX cultist and the circle jerk between him and them came to full fruition.
There are other right-wing cults, of course. The Rush cult was perhaps the original until it was eclipsed by the FOX/Hannity cult. The anti-abortion cult. The gun wacko cult. The NO TAX! cult. The "huge tax cuts for the wealthy elites" cult. The Koch Brothers cult, in which they have spend literally tens of millions of dollars to develop their cult, but did so in a rather quiet manner so that many don't even know that they belong to their cult.
There are probably some others that I will think of later, but you get the idea...…..

People choose to vote for the lesser of 2 evils.

Hillary was not a very good candidate. I will admit that. She has sort of a natural "snark" that turned people off. I was glad to see Obama as the candidate in 2008 instead of her, and I think that the other Dems backed away in 2016 because it was "her turn". That never works out too well, as when it as Bob Dole's "turn" in 1996.

What I see hurt HRC simply stating, in being a smart experienced capable and talented WOMAN! That in Conservative and GOP circles was untenable and unimaginable. We see how they handle women in general, so is expected from them.
The cult ignore facts and truths over foolish conspiracies, laughable if for not how serious and dangerous. Also knowing if left up to the majority would loose badly. So practicing lying, cheating or by any means to win works for them.

Ironic post of the day!

People (some) chose to vote for who they thought was the lesser of two evils. HRC got little attention after Benghazi until they saw she was likely going to be a frontrunner. Then it became all hands on deck let the mud be slung. Pizzagate anyone?

Well, they did run Sarah Palin... :D

Benghazi got huge attention from day one if one pulled their head out of the MSM sand. But it didn't get MSM legs until she ran for President. That's how it works.

Who knew about Trump's "grab 'em by the..." remarks until the month before the election?

That's politics, except Hillary's Benghazi fiasco was all over the conservative media shortly after the event itself. CNN just had "more important" stuff to talk about. ;)
