Sweden's coronavirus death toll is now approaching zero, but experts are warning others not to hail it as a success

And the title is a sort of joke. It's a "good news! but stay scared" MSM sort of thing. :D

So herd immunity is the way to go? How many senior citizens and those with medical conditions are you willing to see die in fairly short order so that can happen in this nation? Should death panels be set up to determine who should "go" when the hospitals get overloaded?

I've said from day one that we should protect those in nursing homes and adult care facilities. And we should. If you want to visit a retirement center and are showing symptoms, wearing a mask is not the answer. The answer is to STAY AWAY.

But for the rest of the known world - don't even worry about it any more than you worry about aids, the flu, or any other communicable illness that can kill you.

I don't live in a nursing home, but I am 74 years old with COPD. Should I go ahead and take my planned trips, flying on airlines and eating at restaurants and comingling freely with strangers of all sorts and just "not worry about it" in spite of the experts saying that age and underlying medical conditions make one more vulnerable?

There may never be "herd immunity" if the virus immunity quickly wanes as the latest research is finding.

So no vaccine ever.
Just like the common cold another corona virus that effect humans.

Since about late April, I've seen this virus that way. It turned out to be not nearly as deadly as they thought it would be. And even then it's mostly deadly to those that are either very old (end of life already) or very ill with something else.

I did a serious paradigm shift at that point. I started reading all news stories from a different perspective. It is not the virus that is killing us, but our response. And that includes the protests, riots, etc. It's all about couping up urbanites for months on end. It never goes well.

And for middle aged and younger people that are in reasonable health, this thing really is like a cold or flu.

FALSE. The adjective “very” does not necessarily apply. Plenty of people have died who have underlying medical problems but were still living very productive lives. Your implication is that it is perfectly okay if people with underlying medical conditions just go ahead and die. We will definitely nominate you for your local death panel sonde you have the “right” attitude for it.
