Political Chat - six months after...

...Donald Trump became the President of the United Morons of America.

I felt pretty uneasy in this forum at the end of the last year. The Democrats partly went on the defensive, while the Trumpists were dancing on the table.

Now, as the orange ass has become totally embarrassing even for a lot of Republicans, we Democrats enjoy watching the tragic comedy that is performed by the White House day by day and we are looking forward to the autophagocytosis of the current Government... ;)

Prosit! :D

Trump actually thinks his bumbling tour was a home run! Remaining G7 leaders are surely laughing their asses off. Sorry, I didn't vote for this national disgrace.

I understand the comic relief that you see, but I don't smile when I see the loss of international respect that the US is experiencing and the potential for people that I care about to suffer under the horrific legislative proposals that have emanated from his office.

I remain about as pessimistic as six months ago, though I've partially recovered form the resultant grumpiness.

His run and the reactions of the losers was indeed amusing. But no longer because the guy's not showing me anything positive. He's going to end making Dubya look good.

I'm not enjoying it. His lack of respect for the customs of precedent set by his predecessors is destroying both the Office and its effectiveness around the world.

His ugly American tour has been about the most embarrassing thing I've ever witnessed from one of our presidents, from his outright lies to his "wandering off" to his bullying. I feel I must apologize for him.

I am going to post this before whell has a chance. :)
Quote:

House Speaker Paul Ryan: “That was a home run. President Trump delivered a bold, optimistic message to the American people. We now have a government unified around a simple, but important principle: Empowering the people — not Washington — is the way to build a better future for our country.
Seriously, what kind of drivel is this, "Empowering the people"?
Caution: Please do not read the rest of the comments on a full stomach.
The following comment is a long winded way of saying you are going to be screwed.
Quote:

Justin Bogie, The Hill: “Critics claim that these (budget) cuts fail to address the key drivers of spending growth: federal health care programs and Social Security. What they miss is that reducing discretionary spending is not just about achieving budgetary savings to control the national debt. Equally important is removing government barriers that inhibit individual and economic freedom, and to eliminate federally funded corporate cronyism.”

I have a feeling Democrats (and possibly even more left third parties) are going to fare well in '18 and '20, if the country survives that long.
