Russian Ambassador Assassinated in Ankara

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.9974611fae08

"MOSCOW — A Turkish police officer who angrily denounced the bloodshed in Syria killed the Russian ambassador to Turkey in Ankara on Monday, shooting the diplomat in front of a room full of horrified spectators at an art gallery in an assassination captured on video and quickly shared around the world.
As the ambassador, Andrei Karlov, lay on the floor, the assailant, still waving his gun, screamed, “Don’t forget Aleppo! Don’t forget Syria!”
The shooting was among the most brazen retaliatory attacks yet on Russia since Moscow entered the war in Syria on the side of President Bashar al-Assad, and unleashed a bombardment on Aleppo that has drawn international condemnation for what observers on the ground have called indiscriminate attacks on civilians." WaPo

I wonder how Pres. (elect) Clownstick von Twitter is going to respond to this attack on his friends?

He'd have to have an intelligence briefing to understand it, but he's too busy meeting with Kanye West.

As for the assassination, that was a gruesome video. I hope Putin and Erdogan are at each other's throats. They're both vicious vipers who deserve each other.

Should be interesting. Turkey isn't shy about giving the 'Bear' a kick in it's family jewels if needed.

The report left out "Allahu Akbar".

donquixote99 12-19-2016 08:44 PM

Oh, it that the most important bit?

The public spin from Erdogan so far is this is an attempt to provoke trouble with Russia, and Turkey will not fall for it.

In the meantime the Germans are afraid to call the slaughter of 12 in Berlin "terrorism".

Again with the words? Are the words magic? I don't get it.

Trump calls the Polish guy an "Islamic terrorist," with no possibility that he actually knows the driver's affiliations or motives. Be happy with that.

It's pretty Goddamned important Don. And it's interesting that that Neo-liberal mullet wrapper, the New York Times couldn't bring themselves to print "Allah Akbar" but instead printed it in English.

The gunman, wearing a dark suit and tie, was seen in video footage of the assault waving a pistol and shouting in Arabic: “God is great! Those who pledged allegiance to Muhammad for jihad. God is great!”
I wonder why?

Could it be that they don't want to say that this dude is obviously an ISIS terrorist whom the Russians are fighting in Syria while we are arming them.

That would make it seem like the Russians are the good guys in Syria, while we are the bad guys, and we can't have that can we? :)

Maybe they don't want to play the word magic game the way you want, that's all.

It's funny how you know what they dead guy 'obviously was.' Maybe, but you're arguing in front of the evidence, I'm afraid.
