Meh. Conservative ideology done up all intellectual-like, presented with the trappings and style that says 'prestige and authority.'

If you want a legitimate conservative institution, try the University of Chicago.

Looks anti-Progressivist, what a surprize.
Leaves out cleaning up the mess of slavery the FFs left, another suprize. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |
Ok, five people that are obviously very intelligent and highly educated, know, without taking any of the courses offered, that the courses are illegitimate.
Are you afraid that if you look further into it, you may come to find that your beliefs are contaminated? Do you not have the strength of conviction to face ideas that may run contrary to your core beliefs? BTW, not all of the courses lean very heavily toward politics. I would have thought the two on great books would draw some interest. Oh well, I said at the first that some here would not be interested. ;) |
I looked thru them, the bias was obvious.
Might have some value as a window into how the other half thinks. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |
Illegitimate is too strong a word in general, though I have BIG issues with that one with 'Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism' in the title....
There's only so far you can go with being 'counter to the Prof's POV' in a class. Some will harbor a counter-ideologue more or less gracefully, many won't. At the very least, you'll have to work twice as hard for a given grade. So it's not a question of 'strength of conviction,' it's one of 'there's always a price for bucking received opinion.' |
