I do them all the time without a spotter.
Did some this morning like that in fact.
An accident like this is possible, but highly unlikely.
Usually when it does it's because some dumbass was using the "no thumbs suicide grip".
I never ude that grip, and I never attempt any weight alone unless I'm pretty sure I can make it easily.
I learned that the hard way by having to roll a weighted barbell from my chest down to my thighs, leaving myself black and blue all the way. Then there's always the "dump" but I never use that because I don't want to fuck up the floor of my utility room.
I figure this Dude had a professional Clintonista hit man as a spotter. :D |
