No, the general circulation Ike dollars were "clad" like everything else. The Mint sold 40% uncirculated & proof dollars all thruout the series, 1971-78, for collectors. Like all "silver" dollars, "Ikes" were never very popular, mainly because of their size, & the fact few coin-operated machines would take them. The last 90% silver-content dollar coins in circulation were the "Peace" series of 1921-28,& 1934-35. The mint has made & sold a TON of "Silver Dollars" in the last 15-20 years, but they are all "bullion" coins, basically for collectors & never intended for general circulation. They are .999 fine silver, & really would not hold up under circulation, anyway.
