Terrible news. :(

donquixote99 10-01-2015 05:38 PM

I read that the killer was online chatting about shooting things up last night. Others taunted, egged him on, and offered how-to advice. These people should be indicted as co-conspirators.

I pulled jury duty for a murder trial where the defendant was goaded into killing a young girl at a party. To the best of my knowledge, the people who egged the killer on were never prosecuted.

How odd it is in our society that only unborn life is precious... all other life is cheap.

Our admin has a phrase for this, something about the assurance of the right to life from conception to birth.

I'm so grateful to the NRA for ensuring my God given right to serve as a target in a public shooting gallery, served by some of the most well armed nut jobs anywhere in the world.
Hear, hear!

I wouldn't say that that sentiment is held by all of our society. The actions of a few nut jobs does not indicate that three hundred million agree.

The shooter stood people up and asked what religion they believe in before shooting them.

The authorities are holding back in giving the name of the dead shooter and really any information. Strange....

Obama's going political

And lieying...at 3:50 minute mark.

States with the most gun laws tend to have the fewest gun deaths.

Illinois has some of the biggest gun laws in this country.

This year alone Chicago has had over 6000 shootings, and over 1070 murders by gun.

And then we have...
St. Louis overtakes Detroit as nation’s murder capital

BTW it's not the guns....

It's mental help and the Doctors hands are tied to divulge anything and stop things like this happening.

icenine 10-01-2015 08:22 PM

Asshole had an AR-15.

Guns don't kill people, assholes with AR-15s kill people.

We don't legally get those, some do, legally or otherwise.
We do get high capacity rapid fire tactical weaponry with no civilian utility purpose justification.
A major part of the problem is a country absolutely awash on unaccountable firearms, it's easier to get a firearm than to vote or get laid, legally or otherwise. If we keep doing what we are doing, we continue to get what we are getting.

Nope! The M16A4 and the M4 are select fire weapons but they don't have the capability or full auto. They can fire semi-auto or 3 round bursts only.

Quite so. It makes my point about ready access regardless of competence or accountability. Alabama and Georgia are two states that serve as suppliers for anyone in states that restrict firearm commerce /ownership.

I don't know how we undo this mess we've created for ourselves with oversupply and lack of effective accountability, but it's unacceptable.

This country has proved time and again we can't be trusted with weapons and the right won't fund mental health constrictions on access to weapons.
Fuck it, take the tools of carnage out of our hands like Australia and any other first world country has.

Your right, I gave the calcification for a Assault Rifle'

And again there has been no official info on the fierarms used.

Dondilion 10-01-2015 09:06 PM

At this juncture, everyone should be strapped.

Oerets 10-01-2015 09:09 PM

YEP! Nothing new here to those who see.

We don't need any improvement to gun regulations at all. Got to be able to fight off those "furran" invaders, or the "Gov-ment"

Just wait someday soon it will happen to someone you know and love. Then it will be to late to seek regulations.

Worked it the Wild Wild West...........NOT!

What tamed the WWW was the removal of every man with a gun being the law.

News flash for you, TB. Chicago, St. Louis and Detroit aren't states.

What the President said is 100% correct.

Boreas 10-01-2015 09:40 PM

Quote:

We spend over a trillion dollars, and pass countless laws, and devote entire agencies to preventing terrorist attacks on our soil, and rightfully so. And yet, we have a Congress that explicitly blocks us from even collecting data on how we could potentially reduce gun deaths. How can that be?

This is a political choice that we make to allow this to happen every few months in America. We collectively are answerable to those families who lose their loved ones because of our inaction. When Americans are killed in mine disasters, we work to make mines safer. When Americans are killed in floods and hurricanes, we make communities safer. When roads are unsafe, we fix them to reduce auto fatalities. We have seatbelt laws because we know it saves lives. So the notion that gun violence is somehow different, that our freedom and our Constitution prohibits any modest regulation of how we use a deadly weapon, when there are law-abiding gun owners all across the country who could hunt and protect their families and do everything they do under such regulations doesn’t make sense.

It took the British government 9 months from the Dunblane School massacre to outlaw handguns and assault weapons. And a little over 20 years later the firearms homicide rate I'm the US is 40 times the per capita rate in the UK. Absolutely, handguns and assault weapons need to be outlawed. First offense for possession, 5 years. Second offense 10 years. Third offense 25 years to life.

icenine 10-01-2015 10:13 PM

Domestic terrorism. We invade the Middle East and destroy it in the name of fighting terrorism but we don't want to take care of the assault weapon problem here in the USA.

Ike Bana 10-01-2015 10:13 PM

Due to the events of the day, this website:

ShootingTracker.com

...has been overwhelmed and is currently in crash state. But it provides the important numbers...in the last 274 days there have been 294 mass shootings in this country.

And how long will it be before the asshole of Texas shows up on the tee vee, opens wide, and spews out his favorite stream of liquid shit..."We should not target our efforts to needlessly restricting the constitutional liberties of law abiding citizens."

Indeed calcification of assault rifles is a very very good idea. Encrust those suckers with so much calcium that they will never be able to fire again.
