Speaker Boehner Unloads On Arch Conservatives

Today on 'Face The Nation' John Boehner labels arch conservatives, "false prophets".

I hope we see more of this in the coming days.

Question

How come they only posted a 19 second sound bite and didn't post the question and reply on it's entirety and context?

It's obviously a world-wide conspiracy.

Here's the whole thing. Warning - It has a lot of big, fancy words.

Let's stick to the content of what Boehner said. Taking question and context into account, is it fair to say that Boehner labeled arch conservatives 'false prophets,' or not?

Interest choice of words, false prophet. Does this mean that the GOP is admitting this is indeed a Christian Jihad that is in progress? And why are these crazies called conservatives? Let's call them for what they are, racist bigots.

Dondilion 09-27-2015 02:59 PM

They get in power by preaching to a base which takes its voting seriously.

The Republican right votes and this is especially effective in modern midterms when the other factions' turn outs are low.

Thus we had "Contract With America" and "Tea Party".

I think it's just the beginning. The guy is really angry and totally fed up. Especially in light of his alcohol problem, there may be many more unguarded and unscripted moments ahead.

BlueStreak 09-27-2015 04:31 PM

"False Prophets"

They push their agenda with an air of piety, in the name of Christ. Yet, realistically, there is darn little Christ-like about an agenda built on pandering to xenophobia, apathy towards the poor and disadvantaged, warmongering and appealing to the boundless greed of self interested Plutocrats. Almost--------NOTHING, in fact.

It'll be interesting to see if he packs 6 months worth of pissing off the Baggers into the next month by passing a clean budget, approving the Im-Ex bank, etc.

Clean budget and debt ceiling increase is a given imo. Ex-Im bank is a probable along with Transpiration. Boeing to China may have been a wake up call. Hope he stays angry the next month. ;)

Maybe Speaker Boehner heard this wingnut spouting off on Faux News?

Looks like John Boehner isn't finished. ;)

Boehner also speculated about surprises that could come closer to the Democratic National Convention if Hillary Clinton’s emails became a larger scandal.

“Don’t be shocked … if two weeks before the convention, here comes Joe Biden parachuting in and Barack Obama fanning the flames to make it all happen,” Boehner said.
This isn't guesswork. It's either gamesmanship or he knows something.

This and the fact that a President Clinton would appoint corporatists to the SCOTUS are my chief concerns.

Rajoo 04-28-2016 06:46 PM

Would a well respected John Boehner name Obama & Biden in an interview for gamesmanship? I wonder. If this does happen, would have thought Bernie would get the nod and not Biden, unless Biden is his VP choice.

donquixote99 04-28-2016 06:52 PM

It would be a matter of who's making it happen.

CarlV 04-28-2016 07:22 PM

Hmm, bet he didn't think that until goppers gerrymandered, redistricting the teabaggers into existence and into the House.

Here's an interesting scenario I heard today. Hillary wins the Democattic nomination. The Republicans screw Trump out of the nomination and he runs as a third party candidate. This sort of rakes the danger out of an independent Sanders bid so he declares as a 4th party candidate. Millennials and old lefties like me get behind Sanders and he wins. :)

donquixote99 04-28-2016 08:52 PM

Trump would have a decent chance to win in a four-way.

Another choice nugget on Cruz:

“Ted Cruz is the political version of liver and onions,” said veteran GOP strategist Ana Navarro. “Some people love it and can’t get enough. And some people gag at the mere thought of it.”

Peter King-(R) NY objected to Boehner's contention today as unfair to Lucifer. :D

Many believe Trump will win a two-way race. I'm thinking he has a decent chance in this case.

He may, if the demographic that finds him utterly repugnant stays home.

I am really glad Ted Cruz is not as smart as Nixon was. We would be in big trouble.
Cruz has fooled the evangelical right wing into thinking he is one of them but in reality he is a snob who likes to wear his Princeton ring.

Nixon may have made a lot of people mad, but he had an army of working stiffs to back him up, along with the silent majority of middle America. Cruz probably doesn't understand that a basic rule of being a politician is not to insult voters, even the ones who are in the other party.

Which may just happen given Hillary's charisma deficit.

Pio1980 04-29-2016 10:24 AM

Nixon became POTUS despite being the living definition of charisma deprived. It's a timed contract, not marriage, and the disaster of a Trump administration shouldn't be ignored out of spite.

Hillary is a deeply flawed candidate. You can't exist in the public eye for as long as she has without growing a lot of barnacles and Hillary has seemingly gone out of her way to do so. I'm beginning to fear that she'll lose the general to whomever the Republicans choose.

He had deep ties to cloth coat Republicans and working class Democrats as well as the normal GOP establishment. In actuality a consensus candidate despite red-baiting campaigns and hatred from the anti-war movement, which was a vocal and very visible, albeit minority, segment of American society.
