Sorry, John but the abuse I have taken from some so-called "Conservatives" on a daily basis for years has hardened me in regards to being sensitive to their feelings. They love to go on about how they don't care if they "offend" anyone. Fine. So, as far as I'm concerned, I quit caring about "offending" them years ago. What comes around, goes around. I'm not going to sit quietly listening to nonsense and the white-washing of history to spare anyone the pain of being opposed or argued with.

Perhaps I could refrain from profanity and making it personal, I guess? But, I'll concede nothing unless I see that I have been PROVEN wrong.

Most people here differ in many ways on many topics. I do not feel sorry for anyone who likes the Confederate flag.

Actually the knuckle draggers are not scary...it is the moderate ones who have a hankering for the lost cause. Hillbillie is trolling a bit...he knew he was pushing our buttons when he kept defending the flag. I do not really think he was going to paint a 30 x 50 foot stars and bars on his shop like he said he was going to do. That said I can't feel any sympathy for anyone who wants to whitewash what that flag really means.

Not all Republicans are racist, but all of the racist I know are. I like to think you are not one. Just seeing the flag from a different life experiences and me being from a State that has strong southern ties. Know some of those feelings and memories. But the flag of today needs to be retired and seen for what it was and is standing for.

Just because we don't agree you are still entitled to voice your opinion.

I remember that PC was a bloody battlefield, early last year or so. Since then it improved and now has become a pretty nice place. Take a rest HB and then you may come back. Do not punish yourself.

A female friend of mind was an ardent supporter of the confederate flag and its connection to her family history. Lots of oral history.

I never did argue with her...she was a pretty girl and very kind.

I do not believe HB is a racist. He is just locked into a tale.
