Governor 'Moonbeam' Gets It
"Gov. Jerry Brown unveiled his revised $169-billion state budget proposal on Thursday morning, with public schools among the biggest beneficiaries from an increase in state revenue triggered by California’s rebounding economy.
The spending plan also sets aside funding for drought relief and to provide healthcare for eligible immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally but may be shielded from deportation under President Obama’s executive order on immigration, a federal policy currently under legal challenge." LATimes More I love this cheapskate Governor of ours. ;) |

I hope the San Andreas has a conniption fit soon. Once California is in the Pacific, along with all the fruits, nuts and flakes, the better off the US will be.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_GDP California's economy accounts for almost 12% of the National GDP, and is currently the 7th largest WORLD economy. We export food, technology, film, aircraft parts, car parts, etc. to the tune of 10% of the nation's exports, leading to a smaller trade imbalance. https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade...e/data/ca.html California's ports are the gateway to imported products (demanded by US consumers) and provide initial transportation for distribution to the rest of the United States. The vast majority of California's 38 million residents work or have worked hard for what they have, what they do, what they produce, and what they will have. The vast majority of us work within the laws, rules, and governance that we've had. The vast majority of us, with, in spite of, or despite the screwups, pitfalls, and stupidity of our elected officials, have been able to work, live well, and do more than a lot of other states. That's just fact. With only 12% of the population of the US, we're damn well holding our own, and in fact carrying our load in the economy. I hope your state is doing the same. Without us, the US would likely be in constant recession, and not be world leaders in a number of technologies and industries. Hate our politics, sure, I hate it too and plenty of other states politics, but Californians work their butts off, reap the rewards of that hard work, and keep moving forward. That's where we look, that's where we go, and that's where others are going to have to follow, IMHO. Happy you love where you live, and all that goes with it. I'm quite happy to live in California almost all of my life, and have benefitted greatly from that experience. |
C'mon Boris, tell us where you live and the virtues of your state, and your state's politics. I'm sure you're proud of your state, as we all should be, so let us be happy with you.

IIRC, Boris lives in Buffalo, NY. It must be all those soshulists in Canada that he can see from his porch that has him so unhinged.

Wait, New York advertises out here on the left coast on our TeeVee's telling us how business can move there and receive 10 years of tax abatement along with other perks...(will you enjoy paying for that or will you ask the Feds for help, as citizens of NY?) |

Personally, I know people live where they like, and many of us end up not far from where we grew up. But IMHO, a lot of people need to be open to go to where there's opportunity. Yes, it will be different but you have to be adaptable, or you'll be stuck somewhere where the economy stagnates. There's reasons why places are popular and prosperous, and the population grows.

Arnold *always* had a Plan to be the Big Leader, according to a biography I saw a few decades ago. Marrying into a leading political family was part of it. Parlaying bodybuilding stardom into film stardom was part of it. California's weird recall-replacement election wasn't part of it, but he jumped at his chance to realize the dream, and made it happen.
Couldn't fix the Constitution problem to go for President, but he did try.... |
I always though it was very touching to have the maid who is pregnant with your child taking care of your wife who is also pregnant with your child. American family values.

I don't think I have ever heard them because their name is too lame. But then I have missed out on a few groups that I would have listened to had their names not suck.
