Cosby allegations

What do you think about all the allegations against Bill Cosby?

http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/20/showbi...repercussions/

merrylander 12-16-2014 07:12 AM

With that many women coming forward I find it difficult to think it is some kind of plot.

Of course it's a plot! The Libs are paying out millions of dollars to these women in an effort to discredit "The Coz". They don't like him telling young black men to pull their pants up and be real fathers to their children.;)

(Sarcasm alert!)

ZeroJunk 12-16-2014 09:09 AM

Looks bad for the man. Plays right in to the only viable liberal tactic most of the time which is shoot the messenger since you have no answer to the message.

Dondilion 12-16-2014 09:22 AM

I believe the women.

Agreed. The accounts, especially taken together, seem credible.

Yep, he's done.

It appears like he will probably be able to avoid prison and that is a shame.

It has been my experience that the more judgmental a person is of others, the more likely it is that they are hiding something about themselves.

Really?!? An ad hominem against libruls with a reverse twisting backflip is your 'go to argument'.

Have you heard the latest one from Dr. 'Ruffie'? He was the one shooting the messenger himself.

He's sounding more and more like the proverbial 'casting couch' masher. His career is over and dead.

barbara 12-16-2014 11:57 AM

Amazing how his celebrity/money/power kept him safe from this mess all these years.

JJIII 12-16-2014 12:12 PM

Amazing, and sad.

bobabode 12-16-2014 12:31 PM

The worst betrayal of it is how much his public persona elevated the consciousness of the American public in regards to black men. I Spy and his family oriented records were a staple in my household growing up. Personally, the Dr. Huxtable schtick was offputting but still was a positive message.

Now he just seems like any other powerful celebrity masher taking advantage of young hopefuls in the entertainment industry.

He'll be right up there 'Fatty' Arbuckle in the history books.

Case of Jerry Sandusky comes to my mind.

You are showing your age son.:)

A serial doper and the people for whom he made big money knew this for a
long time.

Dopers love the entertaining/modeling industry. There they take full advantage of the eager and the naive.

Roscoe Arbuckle was exonerated of causing the injury and death of Virginia Rappe by expert medical testimony as well as witnesses from the hotel party. This however did nothing to reverse the effects of the hatchet job the Hearst press did on his reputation, sinking his entertainer's career with the increased sale of Hearst's papers.
In that, karma returned the favor via Orson Welles' classic "Citizen Kane"s thinly veiled portrayal of his enormous ambition and even larger ego.
See the wiki article on Roscoe Arbuckle for the known story on the events, also see "The cat's meow" back story for further insight into W. R. Hearst's character.
Furthermore, the Spanish American War is ofttimes referred as "Hearst's war" for good reason. It sold Hearst papers as did L'affair Arbuckle.

Back to the disappointment over the Cos's travails and his fan/ supporters' general sense of betrayal. It's going to take some serious fact finding in his behalf to fix this publicity disaster, otherwise it's Jimmy Saville, American style.

I guess you forgot the delight the liberals enjoyed when they got some dirt on Herman Cain, or Clarence Thomas.

But, Clinton's blow jobs were fine.

donquixote99 12-17-2014 06:39 PM

And the above has what to do with the false claim that 'liberals' are defending Cosby? By shooting the messenger or any other way?

Oh. Nothing.

Funny how Hearst's ghost still stalks the ghost of Arbuckle, nasty business there, edit - and a bad example on my part.

Who gave Bill Clinton a free pass? And nothing was ever concluded on the Clarence Thomas / Anita Hill affair. As for Herman Cain, who knows?

The truth never catches up to the lies shoveled-out by dishonest media.

Yeh, right. Cause Lewinsky was forced into it, eh?

You're still the all time winner of the false equivalency derby here Zero.
Tell you what, send me your addy and I'll see if I can get you a blue ribbon made from the dress. ;)

Let me throw out another faux equivalency.

Clinton got impeached for the Monica affair which had absolutely Zero impact to the country or it's economy; yet Bush and Cheney got reelected for invading Eye-rack and wrecking the US economy.

Yeah, the whole Iraq deal was rather stupid.

But, Cain, Thomas, and Cosby with his comments about black behavior were certainly looked upon with disdain by the liberal civil rights leaders who keep racism the only reason for black problems.

And, this alleged activity by Cosby is unfortunate because he like Barkley was one of the few blacks of importance to address the self inflicted problems that blacks have.

I'm certain that a few of those leaders are not unhappy to see him diminished.

Funny how the conservatives were ecstatic when the 'Coz' went on his grumpy old man's rant about pulling up their pants eh?

He did it to himself, tough shit.

Another thoughtful post Bob.
