Rain is Coming To SoCal

First big winter storm is on it's way. The weather scryers at NOAA are predicting five inches in the mountains and two inches near the coast tomorrow. Time to break out my 24' extension ladder and make sure the five roofs are all clear of pinecones and needles. This'll be the first good rain in a year and a good test of the new flat roofs we spent a bundle on this spring.

Enjoy the rain!
We saw some of that wet stuff over the holiday weekend and I hear there is more to come.

Thanks, time to break out the old foul weather gear and jump into some puddles. :D

Five inches in the mountains might not be a blessing, at least for some folks. Stay safe!

What JJ said. 34 degrees here and raining and I probably need to grab some shut eye later. We were woken at 2 AM by what sounded like an animal in pain. Put on some shoes and a jacket over my nightshirt and went to look. I was a Racoon, just a baby one and I could not see any wounds, maybe it was crying for momma.

Noise stopped, went back to bed and it started up again at 3 AM. We did not get much sleep after that.

Not so.

It is a blessing because it brings water to our households and crops.

People who live in areas that get a lot of snow know how to deal with five inches.

😃

If I'm not mistaken Bob said 5 inches of rain. Five inches of snow is a different matter entirely.

My bad!
Just assumed that it was snow since it was at a higher elevation.

Good to hear.

Hope it will help the crop situation out there.

A head of Lettuce now costs as much as a gallon of gas here.

Nice slow and steady rain here. Boring as hell. :(

Fantastic! It's raining here too & we only had a 10% chance.

Good to hear you're getting some of this in south Phoenix DJ.

merrylander 12-03-2014 05:54 AM

Still raining here in MD very softly, supposed to be in the mid 50s today

piece-itpete 12-03-2014 09:15 AM

As long as the levees hold, I'll be ok.

😄

Thanks Bob. As you know I go up to the Sierra's frequently and this will help to check weather pattern. I usually call and ask one of my buddies to give me current weather and road conditions as he tracks them. :)

Cool stuff there with various resolutions and looping of every Doppler radar station all over the country plus NOAA satellite imagery. :)

Big government at your service. ;)
