2014 Warmest Year Yet?
"2014 warmest year: California, world set to break records" LA Times
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...121-story.html "This year is on track to be the warmest year on record for California — and the entire planet — according to a new report." http://www.trbimg.com/img-545be52f/t...06/150/150x150 "Temperatures in California for the first 10 months of the year averaged 4.2 degrees above the state's 20th century average, according to the report released Thursday by the National Climatic Data Center. A new record for the warmest year in California history is a virtual certainty, the report said. Average global temperatures for January through October, meanwhile, also surpassed records set in 1998 and 2010." LATimes |
We barely goot above freezing here today 33.3 but next week we are predicted to be in the 70s. Strange weather.

No kidding. Last Saturday would've been a perfect day - in February. It's been deep winter all week.
Apparently we've shipped our heat to Bob :o Pete |

From Wiki......
""Climate is a measure of the average pattern of variation in temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, atmospheric particle count and other meteorological variables in a given region over long periods of time. Climate is different from weather, in that weather only describes the short-term conditions of these variables in a given region."" So just how if paying attention would one not notice the changes since their childhood. Changes it seems global trending warmer and loss of ice cover. But when one are gets hammered with snow it erases the hot summer in the minds of some. Barney |
Back in the 70s another ice age was coming.
There was a mini ice age starting around the 13th century. Wonder how we helped. Greenland was green when the Norse discovered it around 1000. The polar ice cap has come and gone a number of times during Gaia's existence. |

Why do Republicans so hate their grandchildren that they are willing to leave them such a world. |
2014 becomes the warmest year GLOBALLY.
The lowest temperature in the last 20 months in South West Germany was some 32°. A snowflake in my region is more rare than a 1958 Harman Kardon Stereo Festival Receiver... in mint condition... Weather forecast for this weekend: Sunny, windy and temperatures some 65°. There will be a weather phenomenon which is not as dramatic as the lake effect. The wind stream coming from South Africa will again transport huge quantities of red/grey Sahara dust to Germany. You can see that very nice for example on dark coloured cars...like mine... |

That sounds mighty unpleasant.

In the low 20's here, just three days ago. Today, it's in the '60s and beautiful. Strange days indeed.
Recently Colbert said; "Saying climate change doesn't exist because I was cold today is like saying world hunger isn't real because I just ate." Comedic genius. Dave |
